TSA (Travel Century Approved) Padlocks are approved by the administration of international transport which imposes a number of requirements for the opening of baggage by customs officials. Therefore, only certified TSA locks can be opened by Customs officers, with a special key, without damage of the baggage if a search is requested.
Locks marked with a Travel Century Certified logo, are distinguished by a diamond symbol.
These TSA approved security locks are now mandatory for travellers to the USA.
Uncertified padlock can be sheared by U.S. customs or else the lock may be enforced in the event of a control.
